This just in from Private Bin’s God Help Us if There’s a War Dept.
Intrepid OneNews correspondent Heather du Plessis-Allan, due to hope on an RNZAF plane bound for Turkey today.
No, you might think the flight’s biggest problem would be whether the Icelandic ash cloud would clear on time.
But no.
Did we mention this was the RNZAF?
Ms du Plessis-Allan (niece of veteran broadcaster Barry Soper) was soon tweeting:
“Airforce plane taking us to Turkey for ANZAC day is broken... so we're stuck in Ohakea eating sandwiches.”
Several sandwiches later came:
“A replacement Airforce plane [a Boeing 757] is been flown in from Perth to ferry us across the globe. Operation Gallipoli 2010 didn't factor this in did it?”
Private Bin's guessing both the Eyjafjallajokull ash cloud and the Ohakea sandwich bar will have well and truly cleared by the time the new plane (dubbed, "the Boeing That's Going" by one Twitter wag) flies in from the wrong side of the Lucky Country.
