Russian foreign affairs minister to visit Auckland for Free Trade Agreement talks.
Russian minister of foreign affairs Sergey Lavrov will arrive in Auckland on Monday for a two day visit to New Zealand, Foreign Minister Murray McCully says.
While in New Zealand, Mr Lavrov will have a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister John Key and Murray McCully.
“We have completed three rounds of Free Trade Agreement negotiations and a number of other bilateral initiatives are currently in the pipeline,” Mr McCully says.
The two foreign ministers will sign a consultations plan to formalise increased cooperation between New Zealand and Russian foreign ministries over the next two years.
Mr Lavrov will also meet with Labour leader David Shearer as well as Russian community leaders and business people.
