The New Zealand stock exchange's equity markets will open five minutes late today as a mark of respect for the 29 men who died in the Pike River Coal mine disaster, and their families.
"NZX advises that following the most recent incident at Piker River Coal's mine, NZX has delayed the opening of its NZSX and NZAX markets until 10.05am today, as a mark of respect for the victims and victims' families in this tragic event,'' NZX said.
Those markets would remain in pre-open state until 10.05am, from which time trading would resume as normal.
