New Zealand will hold two minutes' silence at 2pm, just before a remembrance service for the 29 men killed at Pike River coal mine, Prime Minister John Key says.
"I hope all of New Zealand will join with those of us at the service and observe two minutes' silence at 2pm," Mr Key said.
"This tragedy has affected all of us and tomorrow is an opportunity to join together in grief."
Among those attending the service, at Omoto Racecourse in Greymouth, will be Mr Key, his wife Bronagh, Governor General Sir Anand Satyanand and Susan, Lady Satyanand, Speaker Lockwood Smith, deputy prime minister Bill English, Labour leader Phil Goff and other party leaders.
Ministers will include Pita Sharples, Rodney Hide, Peter Dunne, Gerry Brownlee, Nick Smith, Judith Collins and Kate Wilkinson.
Australian Minister of Resources and Energy Martin Ferguson, Australian high commissioner Paul Sullivan, British high commissioner Victoria Treadell and South African high commissioner Anthony Mongalo would also attend.
Two of the dead -- Peter Rodger and Malcolm Campbell, were from the United Kingdom.
There were two Australians; William Joynson and Joshua Ufer and a South African; Koos Jonker.
Diplomatic Corps dean Pedro Herrera and deputy chief of mission of the US embassy Bob Clarke would also be at the service.
