Sky Network Television, the country's dominant pay-TV provider, has added two new independent directors to its board, beefing up its experience in mobile and software technology.

Snakk Media and Hyperfactory co-founder Derek Handley and former head of SAP North America and MyWave co-founder Geraldine McBride were today appointed to the Auckland-based company, filling casual vacancies, it said in a statement.

Handley is best-known for founding the Hyperfactory mobile marketing firm, which was sold to US firm Meredith Corp, and has subsequently set up Snakk Media, listing it on the small-cap NZAX last year.

McBride held senior global positions for business software firm SAP, and has recently involved in setting up social commerce business MyWave. In July she joined the board of Fisher & Paykel Healthcare.
