Slightly earlier date with destiny for Kim Dotcom
Case brought forward.
Case brought forward.
Kim Dotcom's extradition hearing has been moved forward to August 6, from August 20, a Ministry of Justice criminal caseflow manager told NBR.
It will take place at the North Shore District Court.
A person close to the case told NBR the change was purely procedural.
A meeting yesterday was described in some media as "extradition talks."
However, a lawyer close to the case said it was a routine case management meeting, held by teleconference.
NBR understands defence lawyers are probing US authorities to disclose more information ahead of the trial.
On March 5, Crown Law, on behalf of the US government, filed papers for the extradition of Kim Dotcom, plus co-accused Mathias Ortmann, Bran van der Kolk and Finn Batato, to the United States, where they would face copyright, money laundering and racketeering charges related to the now defunct Megaupload.com.
