Some Vodafone customers are experiencing a deluge of spam for the fourth day running.
The company's head of technology operations, Ian Hooker, says: "Vodafone is aware that some people using Paradise and Clearnet email may be experiencing a higher-than-usual level of spam with a particular surge this week. This global volume and the measures we are taking to reduce the spam have had a knock-on effect on email performance.
"We are working around the clock to clear the backlog and reduce the garbage coming into our customers’ inboxes."
The queue should be cleared overnight.
There was no immediate word on the number of customers affected, other than that it was hard to tell.
"We wish to thank customers for their patience. We also encourage customers to exercise caution when opening emails if they don’t know where they came from," Mr Hooker says.
Spam has been deluging for many weeks. Meanwhile my partner bought 10mb extra storage - yet we get the messages that inbox is full.
