John Parker says sorry to Black Caps' captain Brendon McCullum over the Ross Taylor affair.
Black Caps captain Brendon McCullum says he will not pursue defamation action after former New Zealand cricketer John Parker apologised.
Mr McCullum's lawyers, Chapman Tripp, announced he would file papers in the High Court at Hamilton this week over Mr Parker's comments in a document called The Taylor Affair, regarding the sacking of former captain Ross Taylor.
Chapman Tripp now says the matter is resolved after a retraction and apology.
A statement signed by Mr Parker says he made a number of statements about Mr McCulllum which could have implied he had put his interests ahead of the team's interests.
"John Parker did not intend to discredit Brendon McCullum and sincerely apologises to him for any harm to his reputation which may have been caused," it says.
"Both John Parker and Brendon McCullum have examined and resolved their differences successfully and no legal proceedings by either party will occur."
The statement does not say if Mr Parker paid legal costs and Chapman Tripp will make no further comment.
