The names of two high-profile businessmen are doing the rounds at the newspaper, as its parent company conducts a "strategic review" of its New Zealand assets.

As the New Zealand Herald favours a move to tabloid format, and its Australian owner APN launches a review of its assets here, speculation is rife inside the paper over who would buy it if it went on the block.
The company also publishes The Listener and the Woman's Weekly, and holds a stake
