Chief High Court judge Justice Helen Winkelmann was today finalising court orders sought in relation to a Securities Commission investigation into the affairs of failed Hanover director Mark Hotchin.

A case management telephone conference was held behind closed doors at Auckland High Court earlier today.

Neither Mr Hotchin’s lawyer Roger Wallis, nor the Securities Commission, were able to give details.

Mr Wallis told National Business Review there were some unspecified orders being agreed with Justice Winkelmann which were expected to be known this afternoon and likely to include confidentiality.

He said it was “a procedural thing” in relation to the manner in which the commission was “progressing” its publicly-announced investigation into Hanover and related parties.

NBR understands the telephone conference was prompted by the commission, which expected to be able to make a statement sometime today.
