The firms are operating from different locations.
Companies located in Christchurch include Forsyth Barr and Hamilton, Hindin, Greene.
Sharemarket operator NZX said today that stockbroking firms from around New Zealand had pledged $1.5 million to earthquake relief and the total was expected to rise.
Firms to have pledged, or made, contributions so far were Craigs Investment Partners, Deutsche Bank, Direct Broking, First NZ Capital, Forsyth Barr, Goldman Sachs, JBWere, KVB Kunlun, Macquarie Securities, Somerset Smith, UBS and NZX.
"NZX Participant firms are a part of the Christchurch community, and we are looking to support that community in both monetary and non-monetary ways. We are very pleased to come together as an industry to do what we can," said Securities Industry Association Chair Frank Aldridge.
