A spokesman for Sir Peter Jackson has confirmed Taylor Swift’s statement that she bought Sir Peter’s two upmarket Manhatten apartments, something he had previously declined to do.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the chart-topping US singer-songwriter (and, more importantly, mate of our Lorde) outs herself as the hitherto mystery buyer of the two side-by-side apartments in trendy Tribecca, reportedly for a total of $US20 million.
“There’s not an awful lot to say,” Sir Peter’s spokesman Matthew Dravitzki says. “Yes, she has confirmed it, so all power to her.”
Ms Swift also tells the pop culture magazine that getting to see the apartments before buying them was complicated by the fact Sir Ian McKellen was crashing there at the time.
"I think once you're Gandalf, you can always just stay in Peter Jackson's house," she says.
Mr Dravitzki declines to be drawn on whether there are any other fictional characters that enjoy an open-door relationship with Sir Peter.
“I don’t know the answer to that question,” he says. “Yes, Taylor Swift did buy the apartments but I can’t really go further than that.”
