Inland Revenue's push to liquidate five of Terry Serepisos' companies, including one that runs the Wellington Phoenix soccer team, has been adjourned until March 7.

The taxman is claiming more than $3.5 million in unpaid GST, PAYE and KiwiSaver payments from Century City Football, Century City Hunter Street, Century City Investments, Century City Developments and Century City Management.

Mr Serepisos has previously argued against liquidation by claiming he had a funding source lined up in Switzerland.

In a separate action on Friday FM Custodians, acting for Canterbury Mortgage Trust, sought and were granted bankruptcy notices over a debt of $6.1 million owed by Mr Serepisos.

ACC appeared as a creditor supporting the liquidation proceedings, claiming it was owed sums by Century City Football and Century City Management
