More studios claim video game rebate in 2025
The amount claimed in both years is still well short of the $40m set aside annually, with unclaimed funds returned to Treasury.
More video game developers received money under the government’s sector rebate scheme in 2025.
The previous Labour government established the 20% Game Development Sector Rebate (GDSR) in 2023, setting aside $160 million in funding over four years.
