TelstraClear has restored full service following an email problem that hit between 8.45am and 9.38am, the company told NBR.
A problem with one of TelstraClear's spam filters prevented Clear.net and Paradise customers from sending email.
Not all customers experienced the issue, and no emails were lost, a spokesman said.
TelstraClear declined to identiy its spam filter provider.
"It would be unfair to name the filter vendor as the issue may not be related to the filter itself and may be due to hardware and/or software conflicts or other unidentified issues. Re-booting the servers fixed the problem," a spokesman said.
