A Christchurch man extradited from Australia to face fraud charges has been sentenced to three years in prison for a $1.6 million fraud.
Peter Edward Hynes pleaded guilty on 9 November 2010 and was convicted on 40 charges brought by the Serious Fraud Office.
Mr Hynes conducted his fraud while working as managing director of MacPherson Marine.
The company entered liquidation shortly after the fraud was discovered.
