Two more lawyers appointed to Takeovers Panel


Simon Horner and Roger Wallis are joining the Takeovers Panel for five-year terms, beginning tomorrow.

Simon Horner and Roger Wallis are joining the Takeovers Panel for five-year terms, beginning tomorrow.

Mr Horner will replace Kevin O'Connor, whose term expired last June, while Mr Wallis will replace John Waller, who retires from the panel today.

Mr Horner is a partner with Mayne Wetherell, and was previously a partner at Russell McVeagh and Mr Wallis has been a partner at Chapman Tripp since 2000.

The full Takeovers Panel is:

  • Chairperson: David Jones, lawyer
  • Deputy Chairperson: Colin Giffney, stockbroker & corporate advisor
  • Murdo Beattie, investment banker
  • Andy Coupe, Advisor for investment banking
  • Philippa Greenwood, lawyer 
  • David Quigg, lawyer
  • Peter Scott, investment banker, based in Melbourne
  • Sue Suckling, company director and business consultant
  • Keith Taylor, company director and business consultant
  • Simon Horner, lawyer
