UPDATED Friday 9.15am: South Island subscribers to the National Business Review print edition have been warned to expect delays in delivery of today's paper.
Overnight NZ Post issued the following update:
"As a result of the lingering ash from the Chilean volcano, Airpost operations between Auckland and Christchurch were severely affected in reduced capacity. The Christchurch NBRs that usually arrive into Christchurch at 03:00 will now arrive approx 10:30am. They were recovered on a flight to Blenheim for connection with road transports."
North Island subscribers are unaffected.
UPDATED: NBR subscribers will receive their papers on time in most parts of the country.
NZ Post, which delivers the papers, is still flying the delivery plane despite the volcanic ash cloud, a staffer said.
The staffer said flights were still going but there were delays on the ground in Christchurch due to this week's earthquake.
Delays of "maybe one or two days" were likely in Christchurch.
Please be advised that due to ongoing flight cancelations caused by the Chilean ash cloud, it is possible that the distribution of NBR's print edition could be delayed in some areas tomorrow.
A further update will be posted on this website tomorrow.
