Vodafone’s landline broadband service was the fastest during December, according to tests conducted by the independent TrueNet in partnership with the Telecommunications Users Association (Tuanz).
The result is a turnaround for the carrier, which four months ago was in last place in TrueNet’s survey (based on data from volunteers around the country who instal TrueNet probes on their internet connection).
TrueNet principal John Butt commented on the results, “Other note worthy changes in performance included Snap; slowing in the middle of November leading to a full month at the lower performance in December.
“TelstraClear ADSL slipped back on average due to their probes slowing down during the first week of December but performing normally for the remainder of the month.”
Telecom’s ADSL service ranked first during November, but dropped to fourth in December, its average dragged down by four unusually slow days in the middle of the month.
