Broadcasting Minister Jonathan Coleman has unveiled a new website designed to be a "one stop shop" for those who want to see how state funding for broadcasters has been spent.
The Funded Broadcasting Outcomes site, run by the the Ministry for Culture and Heritage, is designed to provide greater transparency, the minister said in a statement.
The site also details rating achieved by broadcasters and individual shows that have received Crown funding.
For example, Radio New Zealand National's Afternoons with Jim Mora has a weekly cumulative audience of 217,000; Morning Report 329,000.
Middle class welfare
Those who believe the middle class has a talent for snagging government spending (think private school subsidies, funding for stadiums hosting commercial rugby events, most things to do with superannuation) will find lots to pick over.
For example, the site lists recording artists who received NZ on Air music funding over the 2008/2009 year.
The of grant recipients includes a couple of individuals whom a visitor from Mars could naturally assume capable of making their own way in the world.
