The government will today be releasing details surrounding the country’s welfare reforms following its announcement of several welfare policies during last year’s election campaign.

Details of these reforms will be made apparent when the government releases specifics later after today’s cabinet meeting.

Changes to domestic purposes, widows and youth benefits will be among the details to be announced, along with changes to the unemployment, sickness and invalid’s benefits.

Current benefits will be considered for change by replacing them with three, including jobseeker support, supported living payment and sole payment support.

Benefit rates, however, will not be cut according to the government.

More to come as details are released later today.
