Cameron Slater lost his celebrity boxing match last night
Former Black Cap Jesse Ryder knocked out the Whaleoil blogger in under a minute.
"Straight into the canvas, faster than one of his OIA requests," quipped NBR politics editor Rob Hosking as the result hit social media.
Boxing analysts approached by NBR say Mr Slater's decision to wear Labour Party red and keep one eye on his smartphone for Northland updates were poor tactical choices.
The fight was part of a $39.95 pay-per-view Super 8 event on Sky Arena.
But it possibly drew a larger audience through Facebook after audience member Sam Vincent posted a cellphone clip of the knockdown (watch it here). Tony Veitch quickly adopted the footage for his page, where it soon topped more than 40,000 views.
