What if the Reserve Bank is being too pessimistic?

The Reserve Bank’s main forecast in its monetary policy statement is almost certainly not optimistic enough.

The outlook is for above-trend growth for the next couple of years: while GDP in the 2.7-3.0% range is not huge it is above what is calculated as New Zealand’s potential growth gate
