Winston’s tourism GST redistribution plan gets tentative industry nod

The NZ First leader wants to give the GST paid by tourists in the regions to where their money was spent.

New Zealand First leader Winston Peters’ plan to give back GST paid by tourists to the region in which it was spent has been tentatively backed by a top tourism lobby group.

Although stopping short of fully endorsing the policy, Tourism Industry Aotearoa (TIA) chief executive Chris Roberts says
