Lexar Media today announced the New Zealand availability of the world’s first 128GB capacity memory card.

The Professional 133x Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) cards are retailing for $657.00 and are available from Bond and Bond, Noel Leemings and The Warehouse.

They allow the capture, storage and transfer of high definition (1080p) video and rapid-fire image capture.

The 133x speed rating guarantees a minimum transfer speed of 20MB per second, and the cards are compatible with SDXC-enabled devices.  The cards include the latest version of the Image Rescue software to help recover lost or deleted photos or videos.

The cards are designed with professional photographers and video enthusiasts in mind, according to Lexar’s website, and the company works with major camera manufacturers to ensure compatibility.  The cards are also tested in labs with more than 800 digital cameras and memory card devices.

A 64GB 133x SDXC card is also available at $386.50.
