Xbox Live TV in NZ? Maybe. Xbox Live YouTube? Heck yes.
Microsoft recently announced television available on Xbox Live and while details about availability in New Zealand are not set, YouTube will be accessible soon, Microsoft says.

Microsoft recently announced almost 40 new television and entertainment providers would roll out services to Xbox Live this Christmas.
Details about the availability of Xbox Live television in New Zealand remain sketchy, but YouTube is a goer, with Microsoft confirming that Xbox Live New Zealand users will soon be able to access the video sharing site.
So soon you’ll be able to YouTube a Halo run-through before trying to take on those stupid giant spider robots (I believe the official name is Type-47 Ultra Heavy Assault Platform, or Scarabs as they are more commonly known).
You know, if you’re useless...
Microsoft announced last week that about 40 television and entertainment providers would roll out entertainment services to Xbox Live, the online service for Xbox 360, this Christmas in more than 20 countries.
These providers include HBO GO, Verizon FiOS and Bravo in the United States ad the BBC in the United Kingdom, and ABC iView and Crackle in Australia.
When NBR asked about lil ol New Zealand, the company’s PR office said it was the corporation’s intention to work to bring an “ever-greater range of TV and video content to Xbox Live with TV and video operator partners around the world – stay tuned for more details for NZ.”
At least Microsoft is building Live harder, better, faster, stronger (at least in terms of content).
Bing and Kinect will work with the TV service, meaning voice search and buttonless channel changing is possible (so while channel wars just stepped up a notch, at least you’ll get great arm and vocal exercise out of it).
Overseas, live and on-demand content from providers such as ESPN in the United States will be available on Xbox Live, as will music and news from the web, including MSN with MSNBC.com and YouTube.
Xbox 360 already offered channels from AT&T, who became the first television provider in the United States to launch live TV on the Xbox 360, Netflix and Hulu Plus in the US, BSkyB in the United Kingdom and Foxtel in Australia.
With the announcement of YouTube coming to Xbox Live users in NZ soon, Microsoft has said it will continue to introduce entertainment concerning the Kinect and Live, so fingers crossed that means TV for NZ too.
