Cider Apples NZ has created a local cultivar it hopes will do for cider what Rockit did for apples and sauvignon blanc did for NZ wine.

New Zealand apple growers are being presented with an opportunity those spruiking it say could create an export industry worth a billion dollars in 15 years and help hedge growers against the extremes of an increasingly fickle climate.
