Crown Law, on behalf of the US government, has formally requested the extradition of Kim Dotcom and three co-accused.

Papers were filed in the North Shore District Court today.

An extradition had to be filed within 45 days of Mr Dotcom's arrest.

The alleged internet pirate, along with co-defendants Mathias Ortmann, Bram van der Kolk and Finn Batato, is on bail ahead of the extradition hearing, expected to take place during August.
