iPredict traders reckon there is a chance NZ First leader Winston Peters will do a deal with National to form the next government.

Users of the trading site are betting there is a 56% chance National will be returned in the 2014 election.

They give Mr Peters at 29% chance of using the balance of power to support a National-led government, up from 19% when the stock opened three weeks ago.

In other trades on New Zealand issues, the review into MMP is expected to recommend the party vote threshhold be lowered to 4%, a "split purchasing age" for alcohol will be introduced, and a byelection in Act MP John Banks' Epsom electorate is expected to be held some time this year.

It is also predicted that John Wilson will take over from Sir Henry Van Der Heyden as chairman of Fonterra, unemployment will fall to 6.2% by December, and the Reserve Bank will not change the Official Cash Rate this year.

iPredict is also running a range of stocks on international politics, with traders predicting US President Barack Obama has a 68% chance of being re-elected.

There is also a 28% chance that Israel will launch an airstrike against Iran this year.
