The clunky and often criticised Companies Office website is to be revamped.
Once a global leader, the website was first created in 1996 and was the first online business registry service in the world.
Next month the Companies Office will dump its existing IT system for a new purpose-built platform called ‘Enterprise.’
In an announcement on its website this week, the Companies Office said the platform has been designed and developed to allow for more customisable services, catering for specific compliance and corporate needs.
It would also serve as a cross-register platform, which would link with the new Financial Service Providers Register, being released in July.
Some of the fundamental changes include logon changes. Users will need to register an “igovt” account to use the new service, although basic searching would not require this.
