An alleged fraud worth at least $1.84 million and a real estate agent’s secret past have plagued a couple of employers this week.
On Wednesday, an Employment Court decision over the sacked Auckland International Airport employee, first announced in February, was released, revealing freezing orders had been obtained and extended on the woman’s assets.
While only initially worth about $500,000, the orders have been increased to $1.84 million, although the Employment Court chief judge Graeme Colgan says the alleged fraud, now being investigated by the Serious Fraud Office, will “likely exceed” that number.
Earlier in the week, a Nelson woman who was bankrupted after taking more than $A300,000 from her former employer, before changing her name and re-emerging as a real estate agent, handed back her licence.
In December, NBR revealed the woman’s hidden past after a dermatologist in Australia managed to track her down and pursue his claim.
Now, NBR can also reveal Ms Wiseman has since handed back her licence to the Real Estate Agents Authority, after losing her job at Summit Real Estate in Nelson.
