Another shakeup is looming for the country’s share broking and investment banking scene, with Deutsche Bank understood to be eying a stake in local firm Craigs Investment Partners.
Craigs has already seen plenty of change in the last ten years.
• February 2001 – Netherlands-based ABN Amro buys 50% shareholding in Craig & Co to become ABN Amro Craigs.
• October 2007 - RBS Group buys ABN Amro and in turn a 50% equity stake held in ABN Amro Craigs.
• April 2009 – ABN Amro Craigs buys back 50% Shareholding from RBS for $4 million, employs staff previously employed by RBS and expands into wholesale equities and research; and large cap investment banking.
* March 2010 – Deutsche Bank proposes acquiring a 49.9% stake in Craigs.
