Gold has reached a new all-time record high, approaching $US1830/oz as investors sought a safe haven from fresh economic woes.
The spot price for gold climbed 2% to hit an all-time high (not adjusted for inflation) of $US1,829.70/oz before easing back slightly, currently trading at about $US1824/oz.
New Zealand gold investors have also benefited from the falling Kiwi dollar, which boosts the price of gold in New Zealand dollar terms.
