On its official blog, Google has unveiled Drive - a long-anticipated online storage service that will take on rivals including Apple's iCloud, Microsoft's Sky Drive and the popular Dropbox.

Matching or under-cutting rivals' various services, Drive is offering 5GB of cloud (onlien) storage for free.

An upgrade to 25GB costs $US2.49/month, 100GB  $US4.99/month and 1TB (1000GB) $US49.99/month. When you upgrade to a paid account, your Gmail account storage will also expand to 25GB.
