Christchurch earthquake cases are proving lucrative for the legal profession.

Twelve lawyers thronged the benches of the High Court in Christchurch for the first day of an EQC case into 13,500 land claims.
The claims were part of the general earthquake insurance claims but specifically related to land subject to liquefaction and flooding due to subsidence.
