UPDATED: Marcomms director off to fresh pastures.
MediaWorks director of marketing and communications Roger Beaumont has resigned and will leave the company at the end of the month.
He's been with the company for nearly 10 years and is well-known in the industry.
“Over summer I have reflected on things and decided that it’s time for a change,” Mr Beaumont said.
In a statement, he said that with the launch of MediaWorks' revamped channel Four ready to go – it launches this Sunday – and TV3's new season about to kick off, the time was right for a change.
“It’s been a privilege to be in the company since 2001, working with some of the best people in the business, and also contributing to the growth of our brands."
Mr Beaumont will embark on consulting work, including activity for MediaWorks.
“I’ll still be involved with the organisation and industry."
MediaWorks CEO Jason Paris told NBR the company had no plans to replace Mr Beaumont immediately.
Its marketing and communications department has around 10 staff, Mr Paris estimates.
Nicole Wood (head of PR) and Amanda Wilson (head of marketing) will report directly to him in the meantime.
Managing director Sussan Turner paid homage to Mr Beaumont.
“Roger has made an enormous contribution to the company over the last [sic] 10 years and he has been a vital member of the senior executive team. He will be sorely missed.”
