Microsoft is globally launching a cloud version of its customer relationship management (CRM) software today.

New Zealand is among the countries covered by the launch, with Microsoft NZ naming Havelock North construction outfit Gemco and Auckland’s Action Traffic Control as beta customers.

Like other flagship customers around the globe, Gemco’s boss praises the way CRM Online has an Outlook look-and-feel and, like other cloud (internet-hosted) software can be accessed from anywhere.

Action Traffic Control director Andrew Seavill said, “It was important for us that CRM would work with our other standard office software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and MYOB. The fact Microsoft Dynamics CRM integrates seamlessly with Outlook has been very important to us, as we use this extensively,”

$309 bounty
Under a scheme to attack Salesforce.com – the pioneer and market leader in online CRM – and Oracle’s CRM business – Microsoft is offering a bounty of “up to” $NZ309/$US200 per user at organisations that switch to its product.

The money can be “applied for services such as migrating data or customising the solution to meet unique business needs.”

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online costs $NZ52 ($US34) per user per month for customers who sign up in the first year.

Salesforce.com's Professional and Enterprise editions cost $US65 and $US125 respectively. Oracle CRM on Demand pricing starts at $US75 per user per month.
