Misuse prompts review of financial service providers register

The review is seen as overdue, amid continuing misuse of the register by overseas entities trying to take advantage of this country's reputation.

One year after giving regulators new powers to try to weed out dodgy financial service providers, the government is initiating a fresh review of the register.
