Crown settlements buoyed the South Island Ngai Tahu’s tribe’s annual profit by $28.5 million for the year ending June 2015.
It was comprised of $17.1 million in “relativity asset money” – to make Ngai Tahu equal relative to other recent tribal Crown settlements – and $11.1 million of aquaculture
