RBNZ, Willis refuse to comment on new governor speculation
Interim governor Christian Hawkesby could miss out on the role, according to media reports today which says it is due to go to a woman.
Hawkesby has been acting in the role since Adrian Orr’s shock exit earlier this year.
The Reserve Bank of New Zealand and Finance Minister Nicola Willis have declined to comment on speculation that a woman is set to be appointed to the role for the first time.
