Justice Bill Wilson and three other Supreme Court judges are caught up in an unprecedented probe into who pays when judges break the law.

A ground-breaking appeal has been delayed indefinitely while enough senior judges are found who are not allegedly “tainted” by any earlier involvement in a child-sex case,.

The case is linked to a landmark ruling by the Privy Council that the way Court of Appeal judges dealt with legal aid applications and the ex parte appeal process was unlawful and breached the Bill of Rights Act.

As many as four Supreme Court judges, including Justice Wilson, are unable to hear the case, which left the court without a lawful quorum.
