UK regulator Ofcom has raised £1.4 billion ($2.7b) for Her Majesty’s Treasury with its first 5G spectrum auction.
IDC analyst Hugh Ujhazy notes that total was 50% ahead of expectations. (The amount was less than the UK government's total haul for 4G but it was the first of three auctions for 5G
