War heroes, refugees and artists top 'long list' of 2018 NZ Book Awards
Ten books in four categories will be cut down to a short list before final judging.
Wartime histories and the work of local artists dominate the non-fiction titles in this year’s “long list” for the Ockham New Zealand Book Awards.
Among them is Leonard Bell’s Strangers Arrive: Emigrés and the Arts in New Zealand, 1930-1980, which recently featured in NBR Online.
