Restaurant Brands wasn’t the highest bidder in its $150 million acquisition of Hawaii’s Pacific Island Restaurants, suggesting its strong track record with US franchisor Yum Brands may have been the clincher.
Kentucky-based Yum Brands owns the Pizza Hut, KFC and Taco Bell franchise systems.
